When a teacher first accesses the Platform, they are prompted with a "Login via Microsoft" option. This process leverages Microsoft 365's Single Sign-On (SSO). Upon clicking the button, the teacher is redirected to the Microsoft 365 login page, where they enter their credentials.
Once authenticated by Microsoft, they are presented with a consent screen that details the information the Platform requests access to, including:
After the teacher reviews and accepts this request, they are securely logged into their Arcademy account, and their profile is automatically initialized based on the data provided by Microsoft.
Students are not required to provide any personal information to access the Platform. To join a session, students enter a unique access code provided by their teacher into Arcademy's platform. This connects them to the teacher's lobby within Arcademy, which then launches and links them to the Minecraft session.
Upon joining, Arcademy retrieves their Minecraft username directly from the game, which typically consists of their first name and an initial from their last name. All in-game data displayed on the Arcademy platform is pulled directly from the game itself and is not transmitted through or stored on Arcademy's servers. Students communicate using Minecraft's native chat system, and Arcademy does not store chat logs or any other session data.
Arcademy itself does not retain any student information. However, Microsoft, as the provider of Minecraft, may store data according to their own policies.
Arcademy does not collect personal information from students and therefore does not obtain consent from parents or from schools on behalf of parents. Arcademy is a platform that works within Microsoft Education and Minecraft for Education. Please refer to the Microsoft Education privacy policy for more information.
Arcademy does not passively or automatically collect personal information from Teachers or Students.
Arcademy does not use any service providers or third parties on our platform. Please review the Minecraft Privacy Policy for additional information about third parties or service providers used on Minecraft.
The Platform does not collect personal information from Students. Teachers may request Arcademy delete their Arcademy Platform credentials, or any personal information collected by contacting Arcademy at [email protected], and we will action this request within 30 days.
Arcademy has no control over your Microsoft or Minecraft account. For information about data retention or deletion of Microsoft or Minecraft accounts, please contact Microsoft.
Arcademy does not collect any personal information from children. If you are a parent and have any questions about our privacy practices, contact us at [email protected].
We may disclose your personal information if required by law or in the event of a company sale or proposed change of ownership. We may also disclose it to protect Arcademy rights and properties or to investigate fraud or intellectual property infringement.
Please be aware that the Minecraft Education service may include links to other services that are not governed by this privacy policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of each site before disclosing personal information.

However, no method of transferring information/data over the internet or storing electronic information/data is entirely secure, so while we strive to use reasonable means to protect your personal information/ data, we cannot guarantee security against all threats.
